Orchid 2
White orchids represent innocence and purity. The word Orchid is derived from the Greek word orchis which means testicle, after the appearance of the roots of plants of the genus Orchis. In classical mythology, Orchis, the son of a satyr and a nymph, was turned into a flower after his death.
The largest orchid in the world can grow up to 20 metres tall. Orchids come in many different colours, the one colour you’ll never see an orchid in is blue.
This shot was taken in London, UK.
"If I see an orchid that's fantastically expensive, I'll buy it. It's worth it, for no other reason that it gives me pleasure."
